Florence Ellinwood Allen

Born on March 23, 1984 Florence Ellinwood Allen was the first woman judge to serve the Supreme Court of the country. She was born to a Mine Manager in Salt Lake City and she had to really fight it out in a society which was male dominated those days. However, her legal prowess was there for all to see, albeit over a period of time. After having one many cases for her male clients her career started to move northward in 1919. She became the first woman judge of the Supreme Court in 1934 and created history of sorts. She was a big advocate of women’s rights and has quite a bit to show in this avenue too. She died on September 12,1966.

Simon Bamberger

Simon Bamberger was another person who achieved something of significance as far as the history of Utah is concerned. He was the fourth governor of this state and was in this position from 1917 to 1921. He was born on February 27, 1846 in Germany. He moved to USA at the age of fourteen just before the American Civil War. He moved to Cincinnati because it was the automatic place to be in for most Germans who migrated to USA. He started his life as an entrepreneur in Ogden and became famous for quite a few things. He constructed the railroad which connected Salt Lake City to Ogden. He went through many ups and down before becoming the governor from January 1, 1917.

Brandon Mull

Born on November 8,1974 Brandon Mull is a famous author who has written many famous books. He is famous for his young adult fiction writing and has earned name and fame for the various fantasy series under the head Fablehaven. These series were quite accomplished and have featured in the New York Times Best selling fantasy series. He graduated from BYU – Brigham Young University. Apart from the series under Fablehaven, he has also written quite a few books under the series Beyonders, Dragonwatch, Five Kingdoms, Pingo and Candy Shop war.

John Warnock

Born on October 6, 1940 John Warnock is an iconic figure and is the co-founder of the Adobe System Inc., along with Charles Geschke He was born and raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from Olympus High School in 1958. He has a degree in Science in Philosophy and Mathematics and also is a PhD in Electrical Engineering specializing in Computer Science.
